The Sturt Sabres Basketball Club caters for basketball players of any age and ability. For beginners our successful Aussie Hoops program is a great introduction to basketball for 5-9 year olds. If a young player is looking for competition, we host a competition called City South on Sundays, which is played at Pasadena Stadium and Wayville Sports Centre. For information on any of these activities please contact the Sturt office on 8177 0463, between 2:30pm and 5:00pm Tuesday to Friday.
For players who want to play at a higher level, Sturt offers the most professional and successful junior program in South Australia. For information on our junior program, contact the Junior Program Manager.
State Club Champion
Sturt enters our top men's and women's teams in the Australian Basketball Association (ABA) Central Conference. The season runs from April to September with matches on Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons. Come and see our elite basketballers, the vast majority of whom have graduated from Sturt juniors, and many of whom now play in the National Basketball League (NBL) or Women's National Basketball League (WNBL).
Sturt offers teams for players who have graduated from juniors, but may not be willing or able to play in our ABA teams and who want to continue their association with the club by playing in our senior teams. Please contact the Senior Program Manager for more information.

City South Conference
The City South Domestic Competition is a joint venture
between the Forestville and Sturt Basketball Clubs. The focus of the
competition is to provide a basketball competition which includes development
programs by the District Club’s, without the high cost and travel demands
currently endured by players who are looking to progress to higher levels in
the sport.
The competition currently comprises of U12, 14 and 16 boys and girls age groups. The games are played on Sunday afternoons at Pasadena Stadium and Wayville Sports Centre. The Sunday game program is designed to minimize conflicts with children participating in other sports. There are also clinics held each week at local stadiums.
