City South Information Book
What is the City South Competition?
Sturt Sabres Basketball Club we have started the City South Basketball Competition, which runs on Sunday afternoons at Pasadena Stadium. This is the entry point level for young players who are looking for good coaching from club coaches and weekly games and at a low cost with minimal travel.
The term 4 training times are as follows:
- Thursday 6-00 pm - 7-30pm at Cabra College for U16 Boys
- 5-15-6-15pm at Pasadena Sports Centre, Daws Park, Pasadena for U12/14 Boys/Girls
- Friday 4-45 - 5-45 pm at Pasadena Sports Centre for ALL U10 players District and City players. Please note- this commences Term 4 for district.
- Term 4 commences first week back at school with games commencing 1-2 weeks later in Term 4.
Trainings are a station based clinic format where they learn all the skills necessary to play the game as well as having some game time practice. We would like to invite interested new players out to these sessions to come and try basketball. This level will be suitable for players with a low level of experience or those who have been playing school or social basketball and are looking for something more. From this training group we will be forming teams to begin playing in the City South Basketball Competition, where we will supply or train coaches. Parents will be invited to assist in the trainings so that they can get a better understanding of the successful techniques used in developing young players.
Sturt teams participating in the City South Conference fall into two categories.
Sturt Sabres (district teams) or Blue Devils (domestic teams)
Sturt Basketball Club also enter their own lower club division teams into the competition from U12 teams. Higher division player can enter the competition to play with their friends. Grading will alleviate abnormal scoring results.
